John 10:1 Jesus talked to the Pharisees and said: It is certainly true that when a man enters the sheep pen, he should use the gate. If he climbs in some other way, he is a thief and a robber
John 10:2 But the man who takes care of the sheep enters through the gate. He is the shepherd.
John 10:4 The Shephard brings all of his sheep out. Then The Shephard goes ahead of them and leads them. The sheep follow him, because they know The Shephard voice
John 10:5 But the sheep will not follow a person if they do not know him. The sheep will run away from him because they do not know the voices of that people
John 10:6 Jesus told this story to the Pharisees, but they did not understand what it meant
John 10:7 Jesus said to the Pharisees, I tell you this and it is true: I, Jesus am the gate for the sheep
John 10:8 The people who came before Me were thieves and robbers but the sheep did not listen to them
John 10:9 I, Jesus am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. They will be able to come in and go out. They will find everything they need.
John 10:10 A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came to give life, life that is full and good.
John 10:11 I, Jesus am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd will die so that his sheep can live.
John 10:12 A person who gets money to look after the sheep will not do the same as the Good Shepherd does. A person who gets money to look after the sheep is not a shepherd and the sheep do not belong to him. When he sees a wolf coming, he runs away and leaves the sheep. Then the wolf attacks the sheep and chases them away.
John 10:13 Yes, someone who gets money to look after the sheep runs away, because he does not really care about the sheep.
John 10:14 I am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know Me,
John 10:15 just like the Father knows Me and I know the Father. I will die so that my sheep can live.
John 10:16 I have other sheep too. They are not in this flock here. I must lead them also. They will listen to my voice. In the future there will be one flock and one shepherd
John 10:17 The Father loves Me because I give my life for the sheep. I will die and I will rise and live again.
John 10:18 No one takes my life away from me. I give my own life freely. I have the right to give my life, and I have the right to get it back again. This is what the Father told me.
John 10:19 When the Jews heard what Jesus said, they argued with each other.
John 10:20 Some Jews said: He has a demon in Him. It is the demon who speaks. He is mad. Don’t listen to Him.
John 10:21But other Jews said: No, a man who has a demon can not speak as Jesus speaks. A demon can not make blind people see
John 10:22 It was winter, and the time came for the Festival of Dedication at Jerusalem
John 10:23 Jesus went to the temple. Jesus was walking in Solomon’s Porch.
John 10:24 Some Jews came to Jesus and they were standing around Jesus. They asked Jesus: ‘How long must we wait before we can be sure who You are? If You are the Christ, then tell us now.
John 10:25 Jesus said to them: I have already told you, but you do not believe Me. I do things that my Father says I must do and those things show you who I am.
John 10:26 You don’t believe Me because you are not my sheep.
John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice. I know my sheep and they follow Me.
john 10:28 I give them eternal life. They will never die, and no one can take them out of my hand
John 10:29 My Father is the one who gave them to me, and he is greater than all. No one can steal my sheep out of his hand.
John 10:30 I and the Father are One.
John 10:31 Again the Jews there picked up stones to kill Jesus
John 10:32 Jesus said to them: The many wonderful things you have seen me do are from the Father. Which of these good things are you killing me for?
John 10:33 The Jews said to Jesus: It is not something that You did that makes us angry. We want to kill You because You are speaking against God. You are only a man, but you say you are the same as God! That is why we are trying to kill you!
John 10:34 Jesus said to them: It is written in your law that God said: you are gods?
John 10:35 Then Jesus said: This Scripture called those people gods, the people who received God’s message. And Scripture we can not change this.
John 10:36 So why do you accuse me of insulting God for saying, I am God’s Son? I am the one God chose and sent into the world.
John 10:37The Father told Me what I must do. If I don’t do it, then you must not believe Me.
John 10:38 But if I do what my Father says to do. You might not believe in me, but you should believe in the things I do. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.
John 10:39 The Jews again tried to arrest Jesus, but they could not do it, because Jesus went away.
John 10:40 Then Jesus went back across the Jordan River to the place where John began his work of baptizing people. Jesus stayed there,
John 10:41 and a lot of people went to Jesus. They said: John has never done a miracle, but everything that John said about Jesus is true.
John 10:42 And many people there believed in Jesus.
