1 Corinthians 15:1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want you to remember the gospel I told you. You received that Good News, and you continue to base your life on it.
1 Corinthians 15:2 That Good News, the message you heard from me and believed, is God’s way to save you. Do not change the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain (without complete commitment].
1 Corinthians 15:3 I, Paul, gave you the message that I received. I told you the most important truths: that Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say.
1 Corinthians 15:4 Jesus was buried and Jesus was raised to life on the third day, as the Scriptures say;
1 Corinthians 15:5 Jesus appeared to Peter, then to all twelve apostles
1 Corinthians 15:6 Later Jesus appeared to more than 500 of his followers at once, most of whom are still alive, although some have died.
1 Corinthians 15:7 Then Jesus appeared to James and later to all the apostles.
1 Corinthians 15:8 Last of all, he appeared to me, Paul. I was different, like a baby born before the normal time.
1 Corinthians 15:9 All the other apostles are more important than I am. I am least worthy to be an apostle because I persecuted the people of the church of God.
1 Corinthians 15:10 Because of God’s grace, I am an apostle now. God’s grace that he gave me was not wasted. I worked harder than all the other apostles. (But I was not really the one working. It was God’s grace that was with me.)
1 Corinthians 15:11 It is not important who preaches to you, I or the other apostles. What is important is that we all preach the same message and that you believe it.
1 Corinthians 15:12 We tell everyone that Christ was raised from death. So why do some of you say that people will not be raised from death?
1 Corinthians 15: 13 If no one will ever be raised from death, then Christ has never been raised.
1 Corinthians 15:14 And if Christ has never been raised, then the message we tell is worth nothing. And your faith is worth nothing.
1 Corinthians 15:15 Then we have lied and we are false witnesses of God, because we said that God has raised Christ to live again. Because if the people who have died will not live again, then it is not true that God has raised Christ to live again.
1 Corinthians 15 16 If those who have died are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.
1 Corinthians 15:17 And if God did not make Christ live again, then your faith is for nothing; you are still guilty of your sins1 Corinthians 15:18 Then everyone who belonged to Christ and has died is lost.
1 Corinthians 15:19 If we hope that Christ saves us only for this life on earth, then everyone must feel very sorry for us.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But our message is true: God has raised Christ from death to live again, this is sure. Christ is the first One who died and was raised to live again.
1 Corinthians 15:21 We all die because of what one man, Adam, did. But all believers will be raised to live again because of what one Man, Christ, did.
1 Corinthians 15:22 We are all descendants of Adam. That is why we all die. But we also belong to Christ and that is why God will make us all live again.
1 Corinthians 15:23 But everyone will be raised to life in the right order. Christ was first to be raised. Then, when Christ comes again, those who belong to him will be raised to life.
1 Corinthians 15:24 Then the end will come. Christ will destroy all rulers, authorities, and powers. Then he will give the kingdom to God the Father
1 Corinthians 15:25 Christ will rule until God has defeated all enemies of Christ and put them under his feet.
1 Corinthians 15:26 The last enemy that Christ will defeat is death.
1 Corinthians 15:27 It is written in the Old Testament: God put everything under Christ control. When God says that everything is put under Christ, it is clear that this does not include God himself. God is the one putting everything under Christ’s control.
1 Corinthians 15:28 When God gives everything to Christ so that Christ can rule over it, then Christ, the Son of God, will also give Himself to God. Remember, God is the One who gave everything to Christ so that Christ can rule over it. That is why God will also rule over Christ in the end. Then God will rule over everything and everyone.
1 Corinthians 15:29 If no one will ever be raised from death, then what will the people do who are baptized for those who have died? If the dead are never raised, then why are people baptized for them?
1 Corinthians 15:30 30 And what about us? Why do we put ourselves in danger every hour if the dead will not live again?
1 Corinthians 15:31 I swear, dear brothers and sisters, that I face death daily, because as my pride in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done in you.
1 Corinthians 15:32 In Ephesus I fought wild animals. If I did that only for human reasons, then I have gained nothing. If we are not raised from death, Let us eat and drink, because tomorrow we die.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not let people deceive you, Bad friends will ruin good habits.
1 Corinthians 15:34 Come back to your right way of thinking and stop sinning. Some of you don’t know God. I say this to shame you.
1 Corinthians 15:35 Some people ask: What will it be like when the dead people live again? What will their bodies look like?
1 Corinthians 15:36 Why do they ask these foolish questions? When you plant something, it must die in the ground before it can live and grow.
1 Corinthians 15:37 And when you plant something, what you plant does not have the same body that it will have later. What you plant is only a seed, maybe wheat or something else
1 Corinthians 15:38 But God gives it the body that he has planned for it, and he gives each kind of seed its own body.
1 Corinthians 15:39 All things made of flesh are not the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds have another, and fish have yet another kind.
1 Corinthians 15:40 Also there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But the beauty of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the beauty of the earthly bodies is another.
1 Corinthians 15:41 The sun has one kind of beauty, the moon has another kind, and the stars have another. And each star is different in its beauty.
1 Corinthians 15:42 It will be the same when those who have died are raised to life. The body that is buried in the grave will ruin and decay, but it will be raised to a life that cannot be destroyed.
1 Corinthians 15:43 When the body is buried it is without honor. But when it is raised, it will be great and glorious. When the body is buried, it is weak. But when it is raised, it will be full of power.
1 Corinthians 15:44 The body that is buried is a physical body. When it is raised, it will be a spiritual body. There is only a human body, there is also a spiritual body.
1 Corinthians 15:45 In the Old Testament it is written: The first man, Adam, became a living person. the last Adam, Christ, became a life-giving spirit to restoring the dead to life.
1 Corinthians 15:46 Remember, the spiritual body did not come first. The human body was first and after that, the spiritual body came.
1 Corinthians 15:47 God made the first man from the dust of the earth. But the 2nd Man is the Lord from heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:48 People who belong to this world are like the first man. They are like the man who came from. But people who belong to heaven are like the Man who came from heaven. Christ is the One who came from heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:49 Now we all are like the man of dust, but the time will come when we will be like the Man from heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:50 I tell you this, brothers and sisters: Our bodies of flesh and blood cannot have a part in God’s kingdom. Something that will ruin cannot have a part in something that never ruins.
1 Corinthians 15:51 Now I want to tell you a secret: Not all of us will die, but God will change us all.
1 Corinthians 15:52 It will only take the time of a second. We will be changed as quickly as an eye blink. This will happen when the last trumpet blows. The trumpet will blow and those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we will all be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:53 Because this body that we have now can become dust, God will give us a body that can not become dust. This body that we have now can die, but God will give us a body that will never die.
1 Corinthians 15:54 When God has given us a body that can not die or become dust, we will know that the words in the Old Testament are true where it is written: God has defeated death.
1 Corinthians 15:55 Death, where is your victory? Where is your power to hurt?
1 Corinthians 15:56 The power and sting of death come from sin, and the power of sin comes from the law.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But we thank God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
1 Corinthians 15:58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Don’t let anything change you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord. You know that your work in the Lord is never wasted.
