Proverbs Chapter 31

Proverbs 31:1 These are the wise sayings that King Lemuel’s mother taught him:

Proverbs 31:2 My child, I am your mother. I prayed to God and He gave you to me.

Proverbs 31:3 Don’t waste your strength or your life on women.  Not give your efforts on things that destroy kings.

Proverbs 31:4 Lemuel, kings should not drink wine, Or for rulers to desire strong drink.

Proverbs 31:5 If they drink too much, they will not remember the laws and will not be able to judge the  people in trouble rightly.

Proverbs 31:6 Alcohol is for the dying, and wine for those of bitter of heart

Proverbs 31:7 Let them drink and forget their troubles.  Let them forget about all their suffering.

Proverbs 31:8 Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Help people who are in trouble.

Proverbs 31:9 Speak for them and be fair when you judge, and protect the people who can not help themselves and who have nothing.

Proverbs 31:10 A wife of honest character is hard to find? She is worth far more than rubies.

Proverbs 31:11 Her husband trust her.  He will never have to steal because he is poor

Proverbs 31:12 She does good for her husband all her life, and she never brings him trouble.

Proverbs 31:13 She gets wool and flax and enjoys making things with her hands.

Proverbs 31:14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Proverbs 31:15 She gets up while it is dark and she prepares food for her family and for the servants who work for her.

Proverbs 31:16 She looks carefully at a field and buys it and she plants the vineyard

Proverbs 31: 17 Her arms are strong, and she keeps on working.

Proverbs 31: 18 When she sees people wanting to buy the things that she makes, she works all night.

Proverbs 31:19 She makes thread with her hands, and she weaves at the loom and makes clothes.

Proverbs 31:20 She loves giving to poor people and those who can not protect themselves and who have nothing.

Proverbs 31:21 She does not worry about her family when it snows because they all have warm clothes.

Proverbs 31:22 She makes blankets and her clothes are made of linen and purple wool.

Proverbs 31:23 Everyone knows her husband.  He sits with the leaders of the land at the gate.

Proverbs 31:24 She makes clothes and sells them, and she gives the merchants sashes to sell.

Proverbs 31:25 She is a strong and a neat woman, and people honour her. She is not worried about what will happen.

Proverbs 31:26 She always speaks words of wisdom, and she teaches her people to be friendly.

Proverbs 31:27 She oversees the care of her house.  She is never lazy.

Proverbs 31: 28Her children respect and praise her, and her husband says she is a good wife. He says:

Proverbs 31:29‘There are a lot of good women, but you are better than all of them.’

Proverbs 31:30 A woman does not always stay young and beautiful, but you should always praise a woman who serves and fears the Lord.

Proverbs 31:31 She must get the reward for her hard work, and everyone in the city must praise her.
