Old Testament

Psalms 60

God, you have forgotten us, and you have driven us out because you were angry with us. Now restore us to your favor.

You have shaken our land and split it open. Seal the cracks, for the land trembles.

You have given your people many troubles. You gave us a cup of wine to drink that made us drunk.

You have set up a banner for those who fear God. A banner that may be displayed because of the truth. Paulse and think.

Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.

God has spoken from his sanctuary: In triumph I will divide the land of Shechem and I will give them Succoth Valley.

Gilead and Manasseh will be mine. Ephraim will be my helmet Judah will be my lawgiver.

The land of Moab is like a bowl where I wash my feet, and the land of Edom is the place where I throw down my shoes. Philistia, shout in triumph because of Me.

Who will bring me to the city with strong walls? Who will lead me to Edom?

O God, You have pushed us away. O God You don’t go with our soldiers when we go to war.

Help us defeat the enemy! No one on earth can rescue us.

But if God is with us, then we will be strong. He will defeat and trample our enemies.
