Old Testament

Psalms 48

The Lord is great! He is praised throughout the city of our God, his holy mountain.

His city is such a pleasant place. It brings joy to people from around the world. Mount Zion is the city of the great King.

God has shown that He protects his people within the strong walls of the city.

The Kings came together because they wanted to attack the city,

But when they saw God protecting the city, they became afraid and ran away.

Fear and pain grabbed them; like a woman giving birth.

God, with a strong east wind, you wrecked the ships of Tarshish.

Yes, we heard the stories about your power. But we also saw it in the city of our God, the city of God. God makes that city strong forever. Pulse and Think

God, in your Temple we remember your loving kindness.

Your name is known everywhere, God, and people throughout the earth praise you. You have shown that you do what is right.

The people in Zion rejoice. and the towns of Judah rejoice, because your decisions are fair.

Walk around Jerusalem, walk around the city, and count the towers in the walls.

Look how strong the walls around the city are. Look at the walls inside the city and tell this to your children.

“This God is our God for ever and ever; He will lead us from now until we die!
