Old Testament
Psalms 102
Lord, hear my prayer. Listen to my cry for help.
Don’t turn away from me when I have troubles. Listen to me and answer me quickly when I cry for help.
My life is passing away like smoke. and the bones in my body burn like fire.
My heart is sad, I am like dry, dying grass. I even forget to eat.
Because of my sadness, I am losing so much weight that my skin hangs from my bones.
I am like a desert pelican, like an owl living among old, ruined buildings.
I cannot sleep. I am like a lonely sparrow on the roof.
My enemies mock me all day. and they use my name for a curse word.
I eat ashes for my food, and when I drink something, it is full of my tears.
This is because You are angry with me. You picked me up and threw me away.
My life is like shadows that disappear in the afternoon, I am like dry and dying grass.
But, You, O Lord, will be King forever, and every generation knows your name.
You will rise up and comfort Zion. The time has come for you to be kind to Zion.
Jerusalem is just a heap of stones, but we, your servants, love every stone of the city, and we feel sorry for her dust.
The nations will worship the Lord’s name. All the kings on earth will honor you.
Yes, the Lord will build Zion again, and people will see his glory in the city.
The lord listens to the prayers of people who have nothing. Their prayers are important to Him.
Write these things for future generations, so that they will praise the Lord.
The Lord will look down from his Holy Place above. The Lord will look down at the earth from heaven.
The Lord will hear the prisoner’s prayers. The Lord will free those who were condemned to die.
The people in Zion will tell about the Lord. They will praise his name in Jerusalem
when the people of all the nations come together and people from other lands come to serve the Lord.
The Lord made me weak. The made my life short.
I said: My God, please don’t take away my life now. I am only in the middle of it. But You, O God, live forever, and your life goes on and on.
Long ago You made the earth, and your hands made the heaven.
The earth and sky will end, but you will live forever! The earth and sky will wear out like clothes, and like clothes, you will change them.
But You will always be the same. You live forever
We are your servants today. 0ur children will live here, and their descendants will come here to worship you.
